Benjamin Morgan

Benjamin's career includes leading the City of Calgary's crisis communication efforts during several major emergencies, most notably the 2013 Southern Alberta Floods, which at the time were Canada's costliest natural disaster and largest peace-time evacuation. He also guided communications during the 2014 Snowtember event and the 2015 downtown underground vault fire. As a volunteer with Canada Task Force 2, he supported local communication operations during the 2016 Fort McMurray wildfires, later assisting the District of Lillooet during the 2021 forest fire season and the City of Merritt following the devastating 2021 BC Atmospheric River flooding.

His work extends internationally through his role as a Senior Fellow with the Center for Risk Communication in New York City, and he has provided crisis communication consulting and training across a wide range of sectors and global organizations, including the United Nations, Pan American Health Organization, World Bank, and multiple government agencies across Canada, the United States, and abroad.
